About Rachel Smith

Rachel Smith is a keynote speaker, facilitator, and resilient entrepreneur who helps individuals and organizations find clarity, connection, and confidence by learning how to see and carry their story forward.

Raised hearing in the Deaf community, Rachel learned early how to bridge worlds. She spent much of her childhood interpreting conversations for her parents — school meetings, doctor visits, everyday moments — quietly learning how much meaning lives beneath the surface and how powerful it can be when someone finally feels heard. That early experience shaped her deep belief that stories don’t always arrive fully formed, and that reflection is often the first step toward understanding who we are becoming.

That perspective carried Rachel into nearly two decades of work at the intersection of identity, resilience, and growth. With over 12 years as a high school Special Education teacher and coach, impacting thousands of students, she developed a rare ability to create environments where people feel seen, capable, and supported — especially in moments of uncertainty or change. Her work in developing district-wide behavioral and work-based programs reinforced her belief that progress happens when people are given language, structure, and space to engage honestly.

As the founder of Pride Socks, a nationally recognized lifestyle brand rooted in identity and inclusion, Rachel brings lived experience to the stage — not theory. Building a purpose-driven business taught her how values turn into action, how stories build community, and how belonging is created through small, intentional moments. These lessons now inform every keynote and workshop she leads.

Today, Rachel works with organizations, teams, and communities navigating transition — from leadership growth and cultural change to identity shifts and personal reinvention. Her talks blend personal storytelling, guided reflection, and interactive experiences that help people recognize the often-invisible moments shaping how they show up, both personally and professionally.

Rachel’s work is grounded in her signature framework, the Thread Method™, which helps people see, name, and share the experiences that shape who they are — and use those insights to move forward with intention. Rather than telling audiences who to become, Rachel creates environments where people feel safe to reflect, participate, and connect.

Known for her warmth, authenticity, and grounded presence, Rachel’s work has been described as life-changing not because she inspires from afar, but because she helps people recognize that their story already matters and that they are already equipped to carry it forward.
